Seur launches DPD’s Predict service in Spain

Spanish express parcel operator Seur has introduced the Predict delivery notification service asthe latest step in the Europe-wide rollout of the service by DPD and its international

partners.

Offering recipients a two-hour time slot for delivery, Seur Predict improves customer experiencewhich has become the main objective guiding e-commerce innovations. The company aims to reduce theslot to one hour by the end of the year.

The service, which is part of the company’s strategic focus on e-commerce, is available fordeliveries throughout Spain and Portugal, and also to international destinations through the DPDnetwork.

As part of Seur Predict, recipients receive advance notice via SMS or e-mail one day before thescheduled delivery with the option to postpone it to the following two days. They get an additionalnotification on the same day with a two-hour time window during which the parcel will bedelivered.

“Seur delivers 12 million parcels to homes each year with sensitiveness to what e-commercecustomers need. Enabling online customers to do what they want with their time without waiting thewhole day for the order to arrive, thanks to a flexible and efficient system, is a great success inconsumer experience,” Seur president Yves Delmas said.

The solution has been made possible through using the latest routing optimisation technology,GPS tracking and navigation, which have been customised for mobile tools.

The improvement in the efficiency of delivery processes benefits all parties involved reducingthe number of failed delivery attempts due to the recipient’s absence and improving the shoppingexperience for end-users, Seur pointed out.

Employing 6,300 staff, Seur, majority owned by DPD parent group GeoPost, has a network of 1,000parcel shops and operates a fleet of over 3,500 vehicles serving more than 1.2 millioncustomers.
