Purolator International has launched a new economical delivery service ‘PuroPost’ for B2C parcelsshipped from the USA to Canada, in partnership with Canada Post.
Canadian express parcels provider Purolator is a subsidiary of Canada Post which is seekingto expand its B2C activities.
The deferred shipping option provides guaranteed delivery within 2-8 days from the UnitedStates to residential locations in Canada matching standard ground trans-border services in theindustry. With the nationwide coverage including all the country’s postal codes and the capacity toreach 34 million Canadians, it offers faster cross-border shipping and zone pricing. There arefewer hand-offs prior to end-delivery to Canadian mailing addresses, including homes andapartments, P.O. boxes even in remote locations, Purolator added.
PuroPost leverages on Purolator’s extensive US and Canadian distribution networks and itsstrong position in Canada while also profiting from the partnership with Canada Post. “In additionto our existing features, our partnership with Canada Post, Canada’s primary mail delivery service,makes it possible to offer direct access to over 98 per cent of the Canadian population,” JonRoutledge, Purolator International Vice President for Sales and Marketing, confirmed.
“PuroPost was conceptualised in direct response to customer feedback,” he said. “The marketwas lacking a cost-efficient way to transport shipments to Canadian customers. We took stock of ourexisting capabilities, and realised that Purolator was exactly the right company to offer asolution.”
With PuroPost, Canadian consumers receive their parcels from their familiar Canada Postuniformed delivery person. Additionally, they will benefit from a high degree of visibility beingnotified every time a package has been shipped and delivered. They can track their shipments onlinethroughout the entire delivery process.
“When a PuroPost shipment reaches the border, our customs and regulatory expertise ensurethat shipments are fully compliant with all mandates and regulations. We ensure that all duties,taxes, and fees are paid up front, so customers will not be surprised with an unexpected bill atdelivery. Shipments generally arrive at the border pre-cleared,” Routledge explained.
