Swiss Post’s unit PostLogistics has opened a new logistics centre in Fétigny, westernSwitzerland, for urgent shipments to be delivered during night or on the same day.
Alongside the classical parcel delivery, PostLogistics offers Swiss-Express ‘Innight’ forcustomers to receive their parcels even before they start work while Swiss-Express ‘Day’ gets theirshipments delivered on the same day. Both services target business customers and complement SwissPost’s core businesses providing mail, express and parcel services.
PostLogistics conducts 18 delivery tours for Swiss-Express Innight and Swiss-Express Day(same-day express) with 3.5 tons delivery vans from the Fétigny facility, which comprises ahandling area of 880 sqm and warehouse space of 147 sqm. Thanks to the good connectivity of thelocation, the company can save on the kilometres covered and CO2 emissions.
The postal operator can use the infrastructure of the Fétigny facility 24 hours a day as thedistribution basis for parcels is also located there. Mail deliveries will also start from Fétignyfrom July onwards with 15 electro scooters and 35 vehicles. The handling area and 25 ramps at thecentre are used at different times for different services.
