Geodis sets up Supply Chain Solutions unit and reshuffles management

Geodis has restructured its operations with the creation of a new unit “Supply Chain Solutions”(SCS) and has reorganised management responsibilities.



The new division covers contract logistics and 4PL, along with key account management,marketing activities and supply chain optimisation. Geodis’ other business areas aregroupage/express, road transport and freight forwarding.

Geodis CEO Marie-Christine Lombard, who is reportedly set to reveal the company’s newstrategy soon, said: “This organisational change aims at boosting Geodis’ performance in offeringour customers innovative supply chain solutions in an increasingly complex economic environment.”

The head of the new SCS unit is Jean-Paul Vignal (54) who has been responsible for thecompany’s Contract Logistics division until now. This division will be led from now on by LaurentParat (45) taking over from Vignal. Jean-Pierre Allhoff, who was formerly sales director for theGroupage and Express division, is now Global Account Manager.

The transport network activities have also been upgraded with three new appointments. OlivierMélot, who has been in charge of road trucking company Geodis BM since 2008, has been named thehead of the group’s groupage/express unit Geodis Calberson in place of Bruno Mandrin, who isleaving the company.

Olivier Royer is taking over Mélot’s previous function, while Kim Pedersen took over as headof the Freight Forwarding division Geodis Wilson on 1 March this year replacing Philippe Gilbert.

The overall Executive Committee now comprises ten persons, headed by CEO Marie-ChristineLombard.
