Estonian postal operator Eesti Post increased its revenues by 9% in the first quarter of 2013thanks to strong growth in logistics and is increasing its investment in parcel services.
The company’s revenues grew by 9% to €12.6 million in January-March 2013. Fast growth inlogistics (+32%) and infologistics, covering electronic services, outpaced a low 2% rise in mailrevenues.
The solid Q1 growth followed good figures for 2012 when the company’s revenues increased by 9%to €52.7 million thanks to higher parcel volumes and profits doubled to €2.5 million.
This year Eesti Post plans to invest €4.8 million in developing its parcel services in theBaltic states with the rollout of some 500 Post24 terminals. From March this year, consumers cansend and receive packages via the Post24 terminals across the three countries.
Last year, around 31 million letters and 2.1 million packages were sent via Estonian Post.TheEstonian Post Group consists of the parent company AS Eesti Post and the subsidiaries Estoniane-Invoicing Centre, Unipakas UAB and EP-24 UAB in Lithuania, and Post24 SIA in Latvia.
