DHL Fashion France acquired by five European specialist companies

DHL Fashion France has been purchased by a consortium of five European companies and renamed to “ Fashion Partner Group” as a leading transport and logistics provider for fashion and lifestyle

products in France.

The new shareholders of Fashion Partner Group are the Italian fashion logistics group Traconf,based in Verona, German textile logistics firm DTL GmbH, the M + R Spedag Group AG in Muttenz,Switzerland, and two French partners whose names have not been disclosed.

Based in Saint Denis, north of Paris, Fashion Partner Group has five warehouses and 18 transportsites in France employing 500 staff with an annual turnover of €50 million and claims to be theFrench market leader for fashion and lifestyle goods transportation and logistics.

The former 100% DHL subsidiary will distribute high-end clothing to retailers across Europe as amember of the logistics network Fashionet AG, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. This network has40 partners in 15 countries.

Originally established in 1968, Fashion Partner Group has specialised in the niche market offashion and lifestyle. It now aims to extend and further develop its existing market segments inthe transportation of goods for procurement and distribution, warehousing and value-added services.In the future, the company wants to expand its logistics activities particularly in the luxurysegment of high-quality fashion and lifestyle brands.

The company’s managing director is Christophe Cavailles, the former vice-president of DHLFashion France. “We will leverage on the decades of experience and the specialist know-how of theFashion Partner Group shareholders in the textiles industry,” he commented.

This knowledge will also be beneficial for the textile logistics association Fashionet thatmanages retail activities across Europe, DTL said. “We’re expanding our extensive Europe-widedistribution network by taking a stake in Fashion Partner Group, which is now being incorporatedinto Fashionet AG,” Rolf Meyer, managing director of DTL GmbH, said. “This way, we can now alsooffer a comprehensive logistics network in France.”
