Geodis wins France logistics contract with Heineken

Geodis has signed a three-year contract with global brewer Heineken to manage its logisticsflows across France from March onwards through its road transport unit Geodis BM.

As part of the deal extending the existing partnership between the two companies, Geodis BM alsodelivers a third of Heineken products to customers and between the brewer’s sites in France(Marseille in the south, Schiltigheim in the east and Mons-en-Baroeul in the north of the country.)The contract also includes part of the logistics flows for France Boissons, a Heinekensubsidiary.

Geodis said this strategic new contract is part of its plans to develop multi-modaltransportation in line with Heineken’s environmental policy. Geodis BM uses combined rail-roadtransport extensively.

Geodis BM has rolled out a singular multi-business coordination system to better manageanticipation stocks, seasonal variations and promotional periods through a high-performanceTransport Management System connecting all the players in the supply chain. It covers transportorder dispatch, operational service providers, service monitoring, management of deliveryappointments and load capacities by the shipping sites (breweries and warehouses), management oflast-minute orders, quality reporting and the performance of each person involved. This results inprecise monitoring, productivity gains and guaranteed optimal quality across the supply chain.

With the new contract, Geodis BM is taking on morestrategic responsibilities (progress plan, continuous improvement) and broadening its businessscope with the opening up of one of our subsidiaries France Boissons and with increasedvolumes.”

Targeting different areas including large distribution, consumer goods, industrial, chemical,automobile sectors and press, Geodis BM offers full and part loads, transport on request, dedicatedtransport, rental, direct flows or flows via platforms, distribution and inter-site rounds. Itemploys 3,500 staff.
