DHL’s German shopping portal MeinPaket.de has proved a commercial success since its launch in2010 with more than one million customers and annual sales of more than €100 million.
The ‘My Parcel’ website, started in October 2010, now features more than five million productsoffered by over 2,500 retailers and has just topped the figure of one million registered shoppers,DHL Parcel Germany announced.
The website grew rapidly last year and the value of goods sold doubled to more than €100million. The parcel volumes generated were not disclosed. DHL is the exclusive delivery partner forMeinPaket and delivers the goods to homes or to Packstation parcel terminals forcollection.
“This development underlines that our concept for innovative online shopping with the securityof Deutsche Post DHL has been well received by customers and has established itself in the market,”said Andrej Busch, CEO DHL Parcel Germany.
Online orders and payment are made through the secure Postpay system, developed by Deutsche PostDHL to offer a wide choice of payment methods together with online addresses and single login forall orders.
The company said it will continue to develop the MeinPaket portal to expand its online shoppingservices.
