Hermes UK more than doubles parcel volumes from MyHermes online solution

Hermes UK has recorded strong volume growth from my Hermes, its online delivery service forSMEs, in the past 12 months with the number of parcels shipped through the solution more than

doubling to 3.6 million.

The volumes were boosted by the launch of myHermes ParcelShops in June last year as well as theincreasing number of retailers using myHermes as a reverse logistics solution for the return ofunwanted online purchases, the company explained.

Overall, 2.6 million parcels were delivered through myhermes.co.uk alone while a further onemillion items came from other reseller channels. In addition, the myHermes fully tracked returnsservice is now also being used by many of the UK’s top retailers to improve the shopping experiencefor customers.

Since the introduction of the first 500 myHermes ParcelShops last year, more than 870,000parcels were delivered through the network, which is ahead of expectations. There was aparticularly strong Christmas period in December 2012 with over 250,000 items shipped during thatmonth.
