DHL is targeting e-commerce retailers in Austria with a new standardised product − DHL EasyParcel − for international shipping to Germany and other EU countries, and which will subsequently
be launched in other European markets in a bid to improve cross-border parcel services.The DHL Easy Parcel service allows retailers to benefit from DHL Express’s pick-up services inAustria and DP DHL’s parcel network in Germany and several local networks in other Europeancountries for deliveries.
“Although online shoppers in Europe increasingly order products from abroad, internationalparcel shipping is still often not simple and reliable,” commented Thomas Kipp, CEO of DHL GlobalMail. “With DHL Easy Parcel, we are meeting the demands of Austrian e-retailers who do businessinternationally, and simplify ‘borderless’ shopping for consumers.
DHL Global Mail introduced its DHL Easy Return product for international returns in summer 2012,and DHL Easy Parcel is another addition to DHL’s product portfolio for distance retailers locatedoutside of Germany. In this first phase of the product’s introduction, Austrian e-retailers can nowmanage the whole delivery process through a user-friendly internet portal. Also, newly developedsoftware allows them to easily create address labels, order pick-ups and track their shipments.
According to DHL, Easy Parcel will soon also be made available to retailers from other Europeancountries.
