Freight forwarder DSV Air & Sea, part of the Danish-based DSV Group, has launched its owncourier and express service in the UK to broaden its service portfolio and enable customers to use
one company for all their logistics needs.The DSV XPress service, which has already operated for twenty years in Germany and is alsooffered in Denmark and the Netherlands, is now available in Sweden and the UK as well, the companyannounced.
DSV said the express service offers same-day or next-day delivery of anything from bulkyshipments to documents. It is based on a user-friendly, internet-based platform that providesonline pricing enquiries, booking, track & trace, POD (Point Of Delivery) and invoicing.
With DSV Xpress, the group is now able to offer in-house solutions for all available shippingand logistics services in one and the same place.
According to the company’s website, DSV Xpress services include worldwide air express, UKexpress as well as international and national economy deliveries for non-urgent shipments. Thereare also same-day and courier delivery services.
“Instead of having to use one company for sea and air and others for road, warehousing andcourier, we can now offer a single point of contact for all logistics services,” explained MartinRutter, who will lead DSV XPress in the UK. “Also, our strong buying power and economies of scaleenable us to offer the product on very competitive terms.”
DSV, with offices in more than 70 countries and an international network of partners and agents,generated revenues of €6 billion in 2011.
