DHL Express has added the GoGreen carbon-neutral option to its DHL Express Envelope product forfree enabling customers to further reduce the environmental impact of their shipping
activities.DHL Express Envelope provides door-to-door delivery of urgent non-dutiable shipments weighing upto 300 grams by the end of the next business day within Europe. The upgraded solution comprises acompletely recyclable, environmentally friendly packaging for documents and is particularlysuitable for DHL Express business customers.
In the initial stage, the company is introducing the CO2-neutral delivery for DHL ExpressEnvelope in 110 markets so companies with subsidiaries in several countries can contribute toenvironmental protection on the international level.
As part of its GoGreen service, DHL calculates the CO2 emissions generated throughtransportation and handling of individual shipments to offset the carbon impact of these emissionsthrough investments in recognised climate protection projects. The calculation and offsettingprocess for GoGreen is verified every year by the independent audit company Société Générale deSurveillance, based on the ISO14064 standard.

With the launch of its GoGreen programme in 2008, Deutsche Post DHL was the first logisticscompany to set a measurable target for climate protection committing itself to improve its carbonefficiency by 30% by 2020 against a 2007 baseline. In 2011, it already reached its interim targetof a 10% improvement, one year earlier than planned. With the GoGreen concept pioneered forbusiness customers already in 2006, the number of customers using carbon neutral GoGreen servicescontinues to rise with DHL registering triple-digit volume growth in the last three years.
