FedEx Express has won the Supply Chain Integrity Innovator of the Year awards for its SenseAwaresolution at the Cool Chain Logistics 2013 Europe Excellence Awards presented in Basel, Switzerland,
this month.The 12th annual Cool Chain Logistics Europe conference honoured key achievements and bestpractices within the cold chain industry. As part of the selection process, an expert panel ofjudges was asked to consider the achievements of any individual, team or organisation that hasdelivered outstanding results in logistics or quality assurance.
FedEx’s SenseAware solution, an information service combining a GPS sensor device and aweb-based collaboration platform, won the top spot in the Supply Chain Integrity Innovator of theYear category. This service was launched in the USA in 2009 and recently expanded into variousinternational markets providing near real-time access to a package’s vital statistics within thein-transit supply chain or stationary inventory monitoring.
Designed to share information continually across global supply chain stakeholders, the deviceenables customers in a broad range of industries to stay connected to their high-value, criticalshipments, FedEx said.
