While winter has a firm grip on northern Europe, Baltic Post’s 71 KEBA parcel terminals inLithuania continue to function normally despite recent heavy snowfall.
The KePol parcel stations produced by Austrian manufacturer KEBA remained operational evenduring last winter’s harsh temperatures of -30° C and continue to do so in this winter’s roughconditions. Once the snow that partly buried many of the machines was cleared away, customers wereable to pick up their dry and undamaged parcels without any further problems.
Since 2011, Baltic Post has established a network of a total of 71 self-service parcelterminals, called LP Express 24, in 41 Lithuanian cities.
Robertas Garalevicius, Leading Key Engineer at HANSAB UAB, Baltic Post’s service companythat also installed all machines in Lithuania, confirmed: “Only the doors could not be opened dueto the snow, but when it was cleared, the machines worked as usual.”
Linz-based automation specialist KEBA has also sold parcel machines to DHL and Austrian Postand operates test locations and pilot programmes in various European countries. KEBA’s installationbase of KePol parcel machines amounts to a total of 3,000.
