DPD Germany launches new web app for smartphone users

DPD has launched a new web app for smartphone users in Germany making it more convenient for themto access its various online services.



The new one-stop solution expands DPD’s mobile service range. Among the main features of theapp are complete shipment tracking and a revised version of DPD’s parcel shop finder: throughgeolocalisation, it identifies the exact position of the user and the nearest DPD parcel shop withthe shortest route of how to get there.The way to the nearest DPD depot can also be easilydetermined with the new app.

On DPD Germany’s websites www.dpd.de or mobile.dpd.de, the application can be accessed freeof charge directly via the internet browser of the respective smartphone no matter the operatingsystem of the mobile terminal. In addition, the integrated Drawer function allows the user toquickly switch between the different categories of the app.

“The DPD web app was developed based on the latest web technologies. User friendliness and anappealing design were the elements we put our focus on,” DPD Online Marketing Manager Anika Winkesaid. No installation is required for customers to be able to use the app.

“The DPD web app is the perfect solution for all users who also want to use DPD’s differentonline services while being en route,” Winke added.

DPD Germany has a nationwide network of 75 depots and over 4,000 parcel shops. It employs7,500 staff operating a fleet of 7,000 vehicles.
