Kerry Logistics expands with Vietnam express joint venture

Fast-growing Asian logistics group Kerry Logistics is continuing its expansion with a majoritystake in Tin Thanh Express, a leading domestic express operator in Vietnam, to provide integrated

logistics services across the country.

The new joint venture company Kerry TTC Express will combine the global logistics know-how andthe international freight network of Kerry Logistics with the local competence and connections ofTTC Express. This gives customers in Vietnam a ‘one-stop-shop’ logistics solution and a globallyintegrated network.

Headquartered in Hanoi, TTC Express is a private express company with operations in more than 60cities in Vietnam. It offers a comprehensive range of services including domestic nationwidenext-day express delivery, courier, LTL, FTL, line haul as well as international express. Its threemajor hubs are strategically located in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang where cargo andpackages are sorted, consolidated and delivered by air and road freight. With a truck fleet of morethan 160 vehicles, the company handles over 10,000 shipments every day.

Over the last few years, Kerry Logistics has been aggressively moving forward its internationalexpansion. In 2011 its express unit Kerry EAS bought several Chinese companies. In the beginning of2012, Kerry Logistics strengthened its operations in Spain through a buy-out of the remainingshares in its former joint-venture Kerry Salvat Logistics S.A from its Spanish partner SalvatLogistica, S.A. In May 2012, it acquired Trustspeed Medicine Logistics in Taiwan through subsidiaryKerry TJ Logistics to expand its healthcare logistics activities.

The Hong Kong-based firm, with revenues of HK$16 billion ($1.5 billion) in 2011, also expandedits Asia network with new facilities in Vietnam, Thailand, China and Myanmar and expanded truckingservices between China and south-east Asia. It also won contracts with luxury brand Hugo Boss tomanage the distribution of premium fashion and luxury goods in Greater China and with IKEA forvarious added-value services.
