CEP managerial appointments in December 2012

Japan Post, La Poste, DHL and Toll Group made executive and senior managerial appointments duringDecember.



Atsuo Saka has been appointed new President of Japan Post Holdings, which owns both JapanPost and Japan Post Bank. Saka, who became the company’s deputy chief in 2009, has previously heldvarious key government positions including assistant chief Cabinet secretary in 2006. He replacesJiro Saito who has resigned from his former position after three years in the position. Saitoplayed a key role in Japan’s postal privatisation plans as well as the restructuring of mail andover-the-counter services.

Philippe Bajou has replaced Jacques Rapoport as head of La Poste’s post office networkfollowing the latter’s appointment as head of railway authority RFF. Bajou will remain on the boardof La Banque Postale and will work towards closer cooperation between the French postal group’sbranch network and financial services business.

Hugh Cushing will resign as head of Toll Group’s global forwarding division in November 2013.Cushing has worked with the company for 37 years. His career started with the Australian-based railcompany QRX in 1975 and transferred with the TNT business which was acquired by Toll in late 1997.Cushing will be succeeded by Paul Coutts who is currently the company’s Product, Marketing andSales Director. Coutts will take over as the division’s CEO in February 2013. He joined Toll in2009 after 35 years in the business and has held senior management roles in Europe, Asia andAustralia including one at DHL.

DHL Supply Chain has appointed Jeroen van Oekel as new Vice President Business Development,Asia Pacific for the Automotive, Engineering and Manufacturing sectors. With fifteen years ofexperience in the automotive sector, van Oekel will aim to expand DHL’s market share in AsiaPacific. He will report to David Christmas, Senior Vice President, Business Development, AsiaPacific, DHL Supply Chain. Jeroen van Oekel succeeds Suzie Mitchell who has been appointed to therole of Country Manager for DHL Supply Chain Philippines. Mitchell in turn succeeds Olive Ramos whowill pursue his career outside of DHL after 17 years with the company.
