Finnish postal operator Itella has announced higher mail and transport prices for corporatecustomers as from January 2013.
Prices for delivery services will be increased on January 1, 2013 due to higher labour,material and transport costs, Itella said. Raising prices exclusively for business customers, thecompany will leave stamp prices and prices of letters and parcels paid at postal outlets unchanged.
From January onwards, Itella’s letter services will cost 3-10 per cent more and bothaddressed and non-addressed direct mail rates will increase by 3 per cent with service changesaffecting prices on a customer-specific basis. Prices for addressed publications will rise mainlyby 1-10 per cent and for non-addressed publications by 3-7 per cent. Meanwhile, rates for transportservices will be increased by 2.8 per cent.
At the same time, Itella has introduced a service called ‘Itella Small Item’. Through the newservice, the company aims to provide a cost-effective solution for sending small but relativelyheavy items such as DVDs or books to locations in Finland. Depending on the item’s size it will bedelivered with the daily mail to most mail slots and boxes.
Also, Itella has revealed plans to streamline its service portfolio in January 2013. Reducingthe number of services by more than half, Itella will make changes to letter, direct mail andpublication deliveries ordered through mailing lists and has announced upcoming changes to itspayment indications and pre-processing, as well as maximum letter dimensions.
