Trans-o-flex buys remaining shares in its subsidiary ThermoMed Austria

German-based trans-o-flex Logistics Group has acquired the remaining shares in its Austriansubsidiary trans-o-flex ThermoMed Austria with effect from 1 January 2013.

Until now, the group has owned 74.9 % of the shares in the company, which is specialised inactive, temperature-controlled transportation of pharmaceutical products. This month, however, thecompany founder Franz Scherübl announced his retirement from his position as Managing Director atthe age of 68 and decided to sell his remaining shares. He will officially leave the company on 31December 2012.

“Franz Scherübl is a pioneer in our industry who was often quite ahead of his time,” KaiSchmuck, Managing Director of the trans-o-flex Group, said. “We thank him very much for what heachieved and wish him all the best for the future.”

For the trans-o-flex Group, this acquisition is another step in the expansion of itsinternational network for the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods targeting thepharmaceutical industry. During temperature-controlled transportation, trans-o-flex observes strictprovisions on the distribution of pharmaceutical products without using expensive cool-boxes.

In addition to Austria and Germany, trans-o-flex also offers these services to the Beneluxcountries, Denmark and France. All in all, the group generates almost 50% of its turnover withlogistic services for the pharmaceutical industry.
