FedEx Freight has stepped up its time-definite road freight deliveries in North America with a newcross-border service between the USA and Canada. The group’s trucking business has broadened its
10:30 A.M. Delivery service to cover FedEx Freight Priority and FedEx Freight Economy shipments toand from the U.S. and Canada, and for intra-Canada destinations. The service, which is alsoavailable within the U.S., is supported by a money-back guarantee.“This enhancement reflects our commitment to offer greater speed and reliability in LTLshipping throughout North America,” said Bill Logue, president and CEO of FedEx Freight. “Theoption of delivery by 10:30 a.m. allows customers to reduce overall supply chain costs throughbetter planning of staffing and manufacturing schedules, as well as managing tighter inventorylevels.”
FedEx said the company’s network design, supported by advanced technology, enables FedExFreight to provide fast, reliable service throughout its delivery area in North America. In theU.S., FedEx Freight Priority has the fastest published transit times of any nationwide LTL service, the company claims.
The expansion of time-definite road freight delivery services follows last year’s merger ofthe company’s two US trucking operations following their restructuring and network resizing. FedExFreight then launched its two core services, Priority and Economy, and introduced time-definitedelivery options for both services, including 10:30 and ‘close of business’. The A.M. Deliveryoption costs an additional $85 per shipment.
