Leading Asian forwarding and logistics group Kerry Logistics has started operating a newcity-to-city, scheduled trucking service twice a week connecting Shenzhen and Hanoi as part of its
Southeast Asia – China road network.The ‘Less-than-Truckload’ (LTL) service run by Kerry Asia Road Transport (KART) aims atconnecting the industrial cities in southern China and northern Vietnam providing shippers and 3PLswith a fixed-day dedicated service. KART plans to expand this service to other cities in thefuture.
As an ASEAN-wide road transportation service, KART connects China (Shanghai, Shenzhen, Kunming)to ASEAN countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore).
“It is very exciting that there are new industrial and commercial centres developing along theroad network connecting ASEAN and China and we are forecasting significant growth and additionalcity-to-city services in the future,” Alex Ng, General Manager of KART, said.
“There is demand from shippers for a service that matches airfreight for transit time and ismore cost effective. By road, we can deliver to the heart of Hanoi and Shenzhen which is muchquicker than by ocean. The city-to-city direct service means we are able to manage our customers’supply chains more effectively, improving efficiency, reducing inventory and deliveringjust-in-time,” he added.
KART has also extended its door-to-door connectivity in China and Vietnam through its domesticcourier services.
