Australia Post this week officially launched its Digital MailBox product, a free and securemeans of digital communication for both private and business purposes, with a further five
companies signing up as launch business partners for the new platform.The postal operator said the product was part of its “historic” $2 billion investment inexpanding, modernising and digitising its national communications and delivery network.
The Digital MailBox will enable Australia Post customers to connect to their secure, individualMailBox anywhere, anytime to receive statements and bills, set reminders and make payments usingany internet-enabled device. For businesses that already use Australia Post, the system offers aflexible range of options to connect securely to their customers through the Digital MailBox aspart of an integrated physical and digital marketing and communication platform.
Along with the three large business-mail shippers Telstra, AMP and Westpac that had alreadysigned up, an additional five companies − ANZ, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Link Market Services,National Australia Bank, and Yarra Valley Water − will also integrate the Digital MailBox intotheir communications channels to connect with their customers.
Australia Post will also use the MailBox to securely communicate with its employee base of morethan 30,000 people. In addition, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the Department of HumanServices (DHS) have partnered with Australia Post to explore opportunities to use the secure,online channel to connect and communicate with citizens about government services. DHS helps morethan four million people manage their government services through online accounts as part ofservicing over 22 million Australian citizens through Medicare.
Australia Post CEO and managing director Ahmed Fahour said: “Both businesses and governmentagencies are realising the potential of new platforms such as the Australia Post Digital MailBox toopen up a trusted new avenue for communicating and transacting safely online. This group of mailersthat has partnered with Australia Post represents more than 70% of the mail volume for Australia’stop ten mailers. This includes Telstra and AMP, the three major banks (ANZ, NAB and Westpac), DHSand the ATO.”
