Deutsche Post DHL is expanding its involvement in the delivery of groceries in Germany by takingover the shares of Christian Heitmeyer, the co-founder of the German online supermarket ‘

Allyouneed.com’.

In December last year, Deutsche Post DHL partnered with Allyouneed.com as a strategic investorin a joint e-commerce project to simplify online purchasing of everyday products for customers.

Established in 2010, the online supermarket has since developed a portfolio of more than 16,000products delivering across Germany. Last month, Allyouneed.com announced the extension of itsoffering to include food, with 600 initial products, including fresh fruit and vegetables.

Andrej Busch, CEO of DHL Parcel Germany, commented: “Following the successful founding ofAllyouneed.com with Christian Heitmeyer, we would like to continue developing food delivery inGermany as a strategic investor in close cooperation with the industry. In this respect, we wantnot only to position Allyouneed.com with our partners as an online market place but also furtherelaborate the logistics infrastructure for the dispatch of typical consumer goods of daily lifesuch as groceries and drugstore products.”

In line with growing mobile commerce, Allyouneed.com also functions asmobile-commerce-supermarket, integrating the point of sale (POS) directly in the living environmentof consumers. Heitmeyer said that today, it is not the consumer who comes to the POS; POS iswherever the consumer happens to be. Heitmeyer calls this ‘Social Retail’ and wants to expand theconcept.

He also initiated and founded the successful shopping club ‘brands4friends’ making it thelargest and most successful shopping club on the German market.

Heirmeyer commented: “I am an e-investor interested in promoting entrepreneurship and e-commercein Germany. I think this is an important growth market in which Germany has to expand a great dealmore.

“We don’t have enough entrepreneurs and often think in an insufficiently innovative way. With myinitiative in e-commerce, I aim, on the one hand, to give people a chance to become entrepreneursbut on the other hand to contribute to Germany positioning itself as an innovative businesslocation in the long run.

“At Allyouneed.com, the involvement of Deutsche Post DHL has developed quickly into a favourablescenario. After only a short period of time, the company can continue growing alone. This isgreat!”
