Hermes advertises on German TV as peak season approaches

Hermes has launched a new TV advert on major German channels to promote its parcel services duringthe forthcoming pre-Christmas peak season and has also collected a service quality award.



The TV advert is a new marketing tool for the company that has implemented only traditionalprint advertising campaigns until now and will run on major German TV channels including RTL,Sat.1, ProSieben, ARD and ZDF.

Hermes said the advert shows many different personal stories around parcel shipping. Forexample, it displays a delivery man who knows his customer personally and gives him his parceldirectly at his favourite café. The film locations range from the North Sea to the Alps todemonstrate that Hermes delivers all over Germany.

Stefan Fischer, Marketing Director at Hermes Germany, explained: “Being close to customers isvery important to us, with our 14,000 parcel shops in geographical terms as well as our ambition torespond to individual needs of our customers. With the advert, we convey exactly this message.”

With November and December being the peak season in terms of parcel volumes, the company isplacing an increasing focus on advertising during this period.

Separately, Hermes Germany has been rated the best company in the category ‘Parcel serviceprovider’ as part of the nationwide “Service Champions” ranking, picking up a gold medal placement.

Around one million customer evaluations of the service of about 1,200 companies from 129different industries were analysed in the nationwide customer survey conducted by the GoetheUniversity in Frankfurt and the daily newspaper Die Welt. The best 300 were ranked with gold,silver and bronze.
