UPS has expanded its global healthcare network with three new facilities in the Asia Pacificregion including China and Australia to meet the growing needs of its customers in the healthcare
sector around the world.The two new facilities in China are located in Hangzhou and Shanghai respectively, the third onein Sydney, Australia, bringing the total number of UPS dedicated healthcare facilities around theglobe to 36 that comprise more than 500,000 sqm space overall.
Serving both multi-national and regional healthcare manufacturers across Asia Pacific, the newinstallations represent nearly 35,000 sqm of healthcare-compliant distribution space and arespecially designed to meet the needs of pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies. Theyadd to the company’s existing healthcare facility in Singapore, which opened in 2011.

The 22,000 sqm Hangzhou facility that opened in the third quarter of this year is targeted atthe increasing number of pharmaceutical companies that are locating manufacturing operations inChina. The other 7,575 sqm facility in Shanghai is located within the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zonewhich is close to the UPS International Air Hub in Shanghai and is designed to meet the needs ofthe medical device market.
UPS’s Sydney facility provides 5,388 sqm of dedicated healthcare distribution space targeted atmany multi-national as well as regional companies looking to set up distribution in Sydney to serveregional markets.
