UK same-day delivery provider CitySprint has launched a new service for retailers called‘MyTime’ offering customers time-specific delivery options within a one-hour delivery time
window. The new service, which is similar to the DPD’s ‘Predict’ service and the Shutl point-to-pointdelivery model, is for deliveries to homes or workplaces at an agreed time and day.
Through the new integrated delivery solution, retailers can now offer their customers a one-hourdelivery time slot using their IT services and ‘pick-pack’ processes. This adds convenience forcustomers with deliveries made via CitySprint’s 35 service centres across the UK.
MyTime enables customers to choose a specific time and date for delivery which can be the nextday (or a nominated day) during a customer-chosen one-hour time slot, seven days a week. Theordered items can be either shipped to the workplace or home. Additional services include statusupdates and online tracking from order to doorstep.
CitySprint CEO Partick Gallagher explained: “It’s no coincidence that the retailers offeringflexible delivery solutions are those reaping the rewards. This new solution makes it possible forall retailers to benefit from increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.
“Consumers expect more delivery convenience and putting the customer first is about providingdelivery choices which suits their needs. With MyTime, finally there is a cost-effective deliveryoption that works around consumer schedules, not the delivery companies. By tapping into ourextensive UK network, which can reach over 81% of the UK within 60 minutes, we can deliver to aspecific date and time that suits the customer and is excellent value for money,” he added.
CitySprint delivers some five million items a year through its network, which includes 2,000vehicles and some 2,000 delivery couriers.
DPD launched a similar service in 2010 called ‘Predict’ giving recipients advance notice of atime window for delivery of their purchase to their home address so they are proactively informedabout the period within which their parcel will be delivered.
