German parcel and logistics specialist Hermes will kick off 2013 with a major four-year sponsorshipdeal with the Bundesliga giving its brand widespread publicity in the country’s football stadiums
and on TV and other media.The Hamburg-based group will become the new official premium partner for the German footballleague with effect from 1 January 2013. When the 2012/13 season restarts after the winter break,all players in the country’s top two divisions will wear the company’s logo on the left arm oftheir shirts.
In addition, Hermes will transport the championship trophy and be responsible for ensuring itreaches its destination in time to honour the newly-crowned champions on the last day of theseason. For the Bundesliga’s new partner this also includes taking the championship trophy on a‘Trophy Tour’ of major German cities, presenting it to all fans before the end of the season.
The contract, concluded with DFL Sports Enterprises on behalf of the league’s governing body,runs to the end of the 2016/17 season. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
