DHL Express France signs up for Renault zero-emission vans

DHL Express has signed a partnership with Renault to buy more electric vehicles under its aim tohave 30 per cent of its French fleet operating with zero-emission vehicles by 2015.



The express operator will buy five electric vehicles (4 Kangoo Maxi ZEs and one Zoé) fromRenault in the next few months and then expand to a total of 20 electric vehicles in its fleetwithin the next 18 months.

Michel Akavi, the new DHL Express France CEO, commented: “DHL Express is committed to rapidlydeveloping a large fleet of clean vehicles. Signing the partnership with Renault is a veryimportant step towards having 30 per cent of our fleet operating electrically in France by 2015.”

The company has been testing several 100 per cent electric vehicles for city centredeliveries in recent months, such as the “Mooville” in Rouen and the “Colibus” in Toulouse. It isalso using tricycles for parcel deliveries in nine French cities.
