Belgian postal bank rebrands with new name and logo

Belgium’s postal bank has rebranded to ‘bpost bank’ to reflect the transformation process thatstarted in 2009.



The bank, which counts over one million customers, presented its new brand-name and logo, inthree languages, at a press conference this week. All branches will be rebranded with the newcorporate identity by the end of 2013.

The bank’s CEO David Moucheron confirmed: “This is a great way to show this evolution.”

Bpost bank offers a complete range of financial products. It is accessible to the majority ofpeople thanks to its proximity to bpost’s sales network. Bpost bank generates annual growth of 6.5per cent on average, compared to the market average of 4.2 per cent, according to the bank’smanagement.

Frédéric Jonnart, Director Marketing & Sales at bpost bank, stressed that theimplementation will take place gradually with the modernisation measures estimated to severalhundred thousand euros. This will include a new IT platform to be deployed before the end of theyear. “For 2013, we will also be able to offer our customers mobile banking solutions for theirsmartphones and tablets. A new savings solution online will also be launched,” he added.

Separately, bpost has opened a new €2.5 million logistics centre in Mouscron, located inWallonia, the French-speaking southern region of Belgium. This will regroup several distributionoffices in the region. The 3,200 sqm facility currently counts 100 workers and is one of the 60bpost mail centres across the country replacing over 300 existing distribution offices. This reformis one of the most important ones bpost has started in recent years to be completed within fiveyears. It is part of the overall investment worth around €300 million.

Bpost stressed that this restructuring in the different regions concerns only mail andparcels operations but not the services offered at counters in different post offices.
