ByBox gets fashionable with British online retailer JD Williams

ByBox delivers fasion for JD Williams

British field service and electronic lockers delivery company ByBox has partnered with UK’sfashion retailer JD Williams to offer online shoppers a more convenient way to collect their

parcels so they don’t have to wait at home for their parcels to be delivered.

Customers purchasing clothes from JD Williams brands such as Marisota, Simply Be, Jacamo, HomeShopping Direct, High and Mighty, among others, will be able to choose traditional delivery or gettheir orders delivered during the night to a locker. This way they can pick up the parcels at atime most convenient for them.

To use the ByBox service, customers will receive a code via e-mail or text so they can open thelocker and collect the parcel any time of the day and on any day of the week.

Stuart Miller, chief executive and co-founder of ByBox, said: “We are very pleased to add JDWilliams to our growing list of online partners who choose to give their customers flexibility whenit comes to the delivery of goods.”

With a network of more than 1,500 locker locations around the UK, the £700 million companyprovides a wide choice of locations for customers to choose from and has invested a further £2million to open more collection boxes at convenient locations such as railway stations,supermarkets, and petrol stations.

“Beginning a partnership with JD Williams is a landmark in the story of smart delivery and showsthat consumers want an alternative to the traditional model of delivery. Our lockers mean freedom:the freedom of not having to wait around at home or at the office for a delivery. Busy lives can betransformed with ByBox. After all, you can shop in the middle of the night from anywhere using yoursmart phone, why shouldn’t you also be able to take receipt of your delivery in a smart way – at atime and place that suits you?” Miller added.

The brands of JD Williams, which also include Fashion World, figleaves.com, and Gray &Osbourn, send 14 million parcels every year to fashion-conscious customers.

Hermes UK has also a delivery contract with JD Williams that was extended last month until 2017.As part of the deal, it will continue providing home deliveries nationwide and beyond the UKhandling more than 15 million items annually.

Separately, ByBox has signed up an Auto ID manufacturer of handheld terminals, Nordic ID, tooffer customers its Tech Courier service for swap-outs and non-intensive installations. Its newlylaunched Tech Services Division enables Nordic ID to avoid further costs and inefficiencies bysaving the time of its qualified engineers that they would spend on simple jobs so they canconcentrate on more complex tasks. ByBox has invested £400,000 in new IT equipment of its expandingTech Courier operation with a team of 160 Tech Couriers.

As an expert in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Nordic ID provides mobile devices forprofessional use enabling customers to improve their inventory management, customer service,communication and supply chain control.
