DHL Parcel Germany has launched a new delivery option for private customers with its “PostOffice Direct” service so they can pick up parcels at the location of their convenience as a
further alternative option. From this month onwards, DHL parcels can be delivered on request to the most convenientlylocated post office desired by the particular customer, to be picked up, e.g. on the way home fromwork.
The only condition for customers to be able to use the service is to register at the post officeor via the DHL Parcel website www.paket.de to obtain a postal number. Customers who alreadyhave a postal number simply choose their desired branch online among the branches available andindicate this as the delivery address for the shipper. Private or work addresses can be chosen fordelivery as well as one of the 2,500 DHL Packstations or another previously agreed location.
Andrej Busch, CEO DHL Parcel Germany, said: “Consumers increasingly demand more flexibility andtransparency when sending parcels. With our offering of a direct delivery address at post offices,we are again considerably expanding the choices for customers and thus providing the most flexiblenetwork for receiving parcels in Germany.”
As it is already the case with Packstations, DHL Parcel also informs customers when choosingtheir desired post office about the effected parcel delivery via SMS or e-Mail. The shipments willthen be available for pick-up during the usual time period of seven working days, DHL added.
