Braspress, one of Brazil’s leading express delivery firms, yesterday opened another new depot inits ongoing network expansion as it celebrates 35 years in business.
The privately-owned company, which competes with TNT Mercúrio, FedEx’s new acquisition RapidãoCometa and other domestic express market leaders, now has a network of 107 depots across thecountry.
The new 3,000 sqm terminal opened yesterday in ParanavaÃ, in the state of Paraná, will serve thesurrounding region and ensure deliveries within 24 hours. It is the company’s 11th depot in thestate.
Last month the company opened a 5,678 sqm regional depot in Brusque along with a 12,600 sqmregional hub in ItajaÃ, its eighth and ninth locations in the state of Santa Catarina. Earlier thisyear a 5,000 sqm depot in Teófilo Otoni in Minas Gerais state also went into operation.
Company founder and president Urubatan Helou said he planned to open several more branches andalso expand logistics activities in future.
Braspress, based in São Paulo, has more than 6,000 employees, about 2,000 sub-contractors and afleet of 1,200 vehicles.
