FedEx Express expands next-morning service

FedEx has expanded its “start of next-day” international express service to more countries inEurope, Asia and the Americas to enhance its offers for global customers with critical

deliveries.

FedEx’s ‘International First’ early delivery service has nearly doubled the number ofdestination markets by making it available to eight additional countries. These are Australia,Austria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Japan, Luxembourg and Mexico. 

Until now, 11 destination countries could receive shipments through the ‘International First’service. The addition of these eight markets brings the total number to 19.

Depending on the country of origin and destination, customers in these newly added countries canreceive their shipments within 1-3 days via ‘International First,’ marking the first time they’vehad access to the global service that focuses on morning deliveries.

“The ‘International First’ expansion highlights the FedEx commitment to serve as a globalconnector, staying ahead of our customers’ needs by strengthening the network that links them tobusinesses and economies large and small,” said Raj Subramaniam, Senior Vice President of FedExGlobal Marketing and Customer Experience. The expansion also emphasises the focus on key globalmarkets for strategic growth, the company added.

The International First service is a time-definite, customs cleared, door-to-door expressservice with a pre-defined delivery commitment for shipments up to 150 lbs. per package. Customersreceive International First deliveries as early as 8 a.m. in the United States, 9 a.m. in Europe,and 10 a.m. in Asia, Canada and Latin America.

While the range of shipments is broad, it is often the delivery service of choice for customersshipping materials that include critical legal and business documents, electronic equipment,medical devices, and gear from the motion picture industry, FedEx explained.
