TNT Post UK has signed a two-year contract with PRO-CURE, the main provider of commercialservices for the National Health Service (NHS) across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and
Hampshire, to reduce its costs by more than £300,000.Lee Collins, Managing Director of PRO-CURE, said: “The NHS is under enormous pressure to makeefficiency savings and we are really pleased that with TNT Post we have secured cash savings onpostal collection services at a time of escalating prices.”
The savings were achieved through combining the volume of 19 trusts across the south and east ofEngland generating a total of seven million letters annually. Four of PRO-CURE’s customer trusts inHampshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, will initially benefit from the competitive price, whichcame into effect from July 1. TNT Post will provide a two-day delivery service for the regionaltrusts.
The contract covers PRO-CURE and its two partners in the NHS Commercial Alliance including NHSCommercial Solutions and the East of England Collaborative Procurement Hub. The partnership withmore than 70 member NHS trusts seeks to maximise its purchasing power securing better value acrossa range of categories.

Since Ofcom eliminated Royal Mail price caps, the cost of first and second class stamps hasincreased leading to the rising prices of franked mail which raised charges to secondary postalproviders. The TNT Post service eliminates the use of franking machines and the capital/on-goingcosts of supporting the equipment.
TNT Post said that it offers NHS Trusts that are considering switching providers, a three-monthtrial and training on managing machine-readable post.
