FedEx supports China-Europe trade with two new B777F flights

FedEx launches new China-Europe flights

FedEx Express has launched two new flights from China to Europe with two Boeing 777 freightersnow operating from Shanghai and Guangzhou to Cologne providing larger cargo transportation

capacity.

With five weekly flights from Tuesday through Saturday, the two new 777F routes meet the growingdemand for capacity between China and Europe, in line with the FedEx commitment to environmentalsustainability by using fuel-efficient aircraft with lower carbon emissions, FedEx Express Chinasaid.

The new routes connect Shanghai and Guangzhou to the FedEx hub in Cologne, Germany. FedEx saidit is the first time the company has launched a 777F direct flight from its Asia Pacific Hub atGuangzhou International Airport to Europe.

“FedEx is committed to China. We strive to deliver convenient and high-quality service to ourcustomers in an innovative way to strengthen their access to the world,” Wilson Chung, vicepresident, international express, FedEx Express China, said. “We now offer a direct flight fromShanghai and Guangzhou respectively to Cologne, Germany, in Europe. It provides more capacity forour international express services from China to Europe and helps promote international tradebetween the two economies.”

According to the trade data published by the Statistical Office of the European Communities,China is the second largest trading partner of Europe. In the first quarter of 2012, the totalforeign trade value between China and Europe amounted to €105.6 billion. China is Europe’s secondlargest export market, and the largest import country of Europe.

FedEx added that it is committed to providing unparalleled connectivity and delivery services inChina through investing in local facilities and global network to enhance the customer experience.In June, the company expanded its Shanghai Gateway located at Shanghai’s Pudong InternationalAirport.
