UPS has expanded its web-based shipping solutions and technological tools to 20 countries inLatin America and the Caribbean to simplify international shipping for customers in the region.
The tools include UPS Internet Shipping, UPS CampusShip, UPS Quantum View Manage and UPS APIkits. This technological expansion is expected to save time and money for customers by streamliningthe preparation, management and tracking of small parcels and freight shipments to national andinternational destinations.
The countries benefitting from the upgrades include Argentina, Bahamas, Bermuda, Bolivia, CaymanIslands, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala,Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, US Virgin Islands and Venezuela.
The company said its UPS Internet Shipping product helps customers dispatch their shipments viaUPS.com with an address book function that aims at ensuring that shipping information is correct,while the records of shipments and e-mail notifications provide better visibility of shipments. Thedesign of the application aims to eliminate multiple pages and forms, which allows customers tomanage all the details of their transactions from a single page. This free tool requires nosoftware installation.
UPS CampusShip allows employees of companies with widely spread facilities and a decentralisedworkforce to process and ship packages from their computers. UPS API kits (Applications ProgrammingInterfaces) allow businesses to integrate UPS technology into their existing websites.
UPS Quantum View Manage is a web-based application that provides customers with parcel statusinformation in an easy-to-use format without the need for tracking numbers. It also providesmaximum visibility of shipments, whether inbound, outbound or third party, in a format that can becustomised and adapted to user preferences.
