DHL Express and Indian subsidiary Blue Dart scoop various awards in India

DHL Express and its Indian subsidiary Blue Dart were recognised for their contribution tobusiness, society and the environment at three different awards ceremonies held in Mumbai, India,

at the end of June.

At the Responsible Business Awards, Blue Dart won the Environmental Leadership Award while DHLExpress was honoured with the Responsible Supply Chain Award for its GoGreen Carbon NeutralService. It is the first end-to-end service in India enabling customers to ‘neutralise’ theircarbon footprint. For its commitment to CSR, Blue Dart and DHL Express also received a Best in CSRAward and Corporate Social Responsibility Practice Award, respectively.

In addition, Blue Dart also won the Sustainable Education Strategy Award for its Blue Edge:Empowering Lives initiative aiming to improve lives of young adults from deprived environments.Anil Khanna, Managing Director for Blue Dart Express, was also recognised with the ResponsibleBusiness Leader Award as the driving force in various sustainable initiatives.

At the Corporate Excellence Awards 2012, honouring corporate practices of individual companies,Khanna won the Best CEO Award while Yogesh Dhingra, COO & Finance Director of Blue Dart,received the Best CFO Award.

At The Thought Leaders Awards, recognising innovative ideas and futurists, Khanna was honouredagain with the CEO Thought Leader Award, for setting new benchmarks for the industry. Khannacommented: “Our core values, best business practices and dedicated workforce are priceless assetsthat have helped us win these awards. At an individual level, I am overwhelmed at theserecognitions and remain committed to driving best practices and setting benchmarks in corporatecitizenship for the industry.”

Dhingra added that the awards testify to Blue Dart’s financial excellence and aggressive growthstrategy. He stressed that the various cost rationalisation initiatives undertaken by Blue Dart hadmade it not only a profitable but a debt-free organization, which can be considered quite anachievement given the current economic situation.
