Hermes Germany is promoting its B2C ProfiParcelService with a campaign for new businesscustomers offering them guaranteed delivery within two days for the first month of using the
service.Running from 6 July – 31 August, the campaign aims to attract new customers with a money-backguarantee for each shipment that takes longer to arrive than two days.
Hermes highlighted delivery time as one of the decisive success factors for online retailers.Its web-based ProfiParcelService is designed especially for traders shipping volumes that rangebetween 300 and up to 10,000 items per year.
“We measure ourselves on what we assure our customers of with the money-back guarantee –delivery within two days,” Frank Iden, Managing Director Hermes Germany said. This time windowrepresents a standard delivery time in the ProfiParcelService segment which is not sufficientlywell- known on the market. “The ProfiParcelService-campaign shows in a pro-active way what we cando. Thereby we increasingly focus on winning new customers,” he added.
Hermes stressed that fast and timely delivery of goods is an important competitive advantage forinternet retailers that can be the crucial factor determining whether new customers become regularcustomers. “Moreover, satisfied consumers are the best advocates for gaining new customers so shopowners profit immensely from positive online evaluations,” the company explained.
When developing the campaign for the money-back-guarantee, Hermes placed the focus on thedelivery time promise as well as good shop evaluations for traders.
The offer is being promoted in print media and online in leading German publications such as theFrankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Financial Times Deutschland and Manager Magazin. Via the so-calledReal-Time-Bidding procedure, the advertising media are automated and put in place in real time. Themedia plan also uses eBay as an advertising platform. In addition, Hermes is placing classicadvertisements in publications related to specific target groups to draw attention to thecampaign.
