DHL Express and Vietnam Post yesterday launched a new international express service in Vietnamto deepen their joint venture business activities.
The new service, branded VNQuickpost, targets mid-sized customers by providing more economical,reliable and speedy international express options to customers of Vietnam Post, DHL Express said.VNQuickpost will first be rolled out in the post offices in the city centres of Hanoi, Ho Chi MinhCity, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Da Nang and Quang Nam.
Customers using VNQuickpost will be able to enjoy the ease of shipping internationally, to over220 countries and territories by simply registering their documents and packages at the postoffices. The shorter transit time, the availability of the 24/7 customer hotline as well as trackand trace gives customers the ability to track their shipments during transit.
Vietnam Post and DHL began their joint venture partnership in 2007, and the launch of the newservice is part of their ongoing effort to bring greater convenience to the local market and toimprove the overall service level in the logistics industry.

DHL Express, through DHL-VNPT Express Ltd, has invested about US$20 million in Vietnam in recentyears, including a $5 million gateway at Ho Chi Minh airport in 2010, a $1.4 million facility atHanoi international airport in 2011, and new service and express centres in Dong Nai, Danang, HaiPhong, Vung Tau and Long An.
Last November, DHL Express launched a direct flight connecting Ho Chi Minh City with its hubs atHong Kong and Bangkok, offering later cutoff times and improved transit times for Vietnam-basedexporters. The five days a week B727 freighter, with capacity for up to 22 tonnes, flies from HoChi Minh City to Hong Kong and then to Bangkok before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
