Lithuania Post to operate parcel terminals through Baltic Post acquisition

Lithuania Post has expanded its presence and activities in the domestic parcels market throughthe acquisition of Baltic Post, a company that operates a network of automated parcel terminals

under the name “SIUNTOS24” across the country.

Currently, Baltic Post runs a network of 60 parcel terminals installed in 34 Lithuanian citiesand towns with 11 more terminals to be installed at 9 locations. The SIUNTOS24 self-service parcelterminals are deployed at the largest shopping centres, gas stations, and post offices.

Lina Minderiene, CEO of Lithuania Post, said: “The decision has been taken considering LithuaniaPost’s aim to strengthen its position in the area of item delivery. With the possibility to manageboth the instalment of terminals and the delivery process we will ensure a higher quality ofservice level.”

The postal operator stressed the strategic importance of the acquisition as delivery andcollection of parcels through self-service terminals is becoming increasingly popular andprofitable.

According to Minderiene, Lithuania Post is the only company in the country offering itscustomers such a wide choice of delivery options with postal items being sent and collected at morethan 700 post offices, In addition, customers can call a courier in any Lithuanian city, or useself-service terminals operating 24 hours a day.

Domas Sabaitis, the new director of Baltic Post, said: “After the acquisition of Baltic Post,Lithuania Post will further expand the network of parcel terminals. In a short time we are going toinstall several new terminals and offer more flexible conditions for sending postal items bothdomestically and internationally.”

The terminals feature up-to-date technologies storing information on the shipments which istransferred to couriers. This ensures fast and quality delivery of items to intendedaddressees.

The SIUNTOS24 network run by Baltic Post has been managed by the company Kautra in cooperationwith Lithuania Post.
