FedEx launches eco-driving

FedEx Express yesterday launched an eco-drive campaign in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East,Indian Subcontinent and Africa) to help its couriers improve fuel efficiency.

The programme kicked off in the United Arab Emirates and then will expand to Switzerland andother countries across the region. It was first launched two years ago at FedEx Express inJapan.

The aim of the Eco-drive programme is to improve fuel efficiency by changing the daily drivinghabits of thousands of FedEx Express couriers.  The launch coincided with World EnvironmentDay, a global day commemorating positive environmental action celebrated by the United Nations andthe international community each year.

The Eco-drive campaign empowers couriers at FedEx Express with practical information and drivingtips to operate their vehicles in a more environmentally friendly way. Among the leading benefitsare fuel efficiencies, lower emissions leading to a cleaner environment, and vehicle accidentprevention, promoting safer roads.

“The Eco-drive programme has created excitement at FedEx Express; our team members are proud tobe empowered with the knowledge and skill set to drive in a more environmentally sustainablefashion.
