FedEx Express has expanded its network in Italy with eight new branches opened in Genoa,Treviso, Alessandria, Padua, Verona, Monza, Reggio Emilia and Brescia over the last few months.
The new stations offer a wide range of FedEx Intra-European and Intercontinental transportationservices, including FedEx Express next-business-day and two-business day deliveries and FedExEconomy services for less urgent shipments. All services are available for heavy shipments over 68kgs as well as small parcels and documents. The size and capacity of the new branch facilities werenot stated.
The new facility in Genoa, the sixth largest city in Italy, will enable later pick up times,making it easier for companies to take advantage of global markets. For example, companies based inGenoa that need a package delivered to a city in the East Coast of the USA by 3 p.m. the next daycan hand in their shipment as late as 6 p.m. the day before and have it arrive in time. Genoaprovince is an important regional trading centre in Italy, driven by key industries such asconstruction, credit and insurance and tourism.
The facility in Alessandria, a city and commune in Piedmont, establishes strong trade links tothe rest of Europe and international destinations including China, India and Mexico providingcustomers in the region with greater access to the FedEx Express global network. Alessandriaprovince is driven by key industries such as mechanic engineering, jewelry and rubber and plasticand comprises more than 46,800 businesses.
The FedEx station in Padua, northern Italy, is connected via road network to the FedEx gatewayat Malpensa Airport, which in turn is connected to the European hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle inParis. The other new facilities are in Verona, Monza and Treviso, also in the north of the country,and are also connected by road to Malpensa.

The station in Reggio Emilio serves Parma province which comprises more than 106,000 commercialenterprises driven by export-based, international trade in key industries including engineering andelectronics, agro-alimentary, fashion, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. It provides strong tradelinks to the rest of Europe and international destinations including China, Japan and Brazil.

The facility in Brescia provides delivery to European and international destinations includingChina, the United States and Brazil. With more than 121,400 businesses 74% of which are small ormedium-sized enterprises, Brescia is the fourth largest Italian Province in terms of exportvolume.
