TNT France lands delivery contract with IT manufacturer and expands depot

TNT Express France has won a contract with LaCie, the French manufacturer of computerperipherals, for the delivery of small parcels in France and Europe, and also expanded a depot in

south-east France to keep up with the growing volumes in the region.

As LaCie’s exclusive service provider, TNT France will deliver external hard drives, displays,DVD writers and accessories to businesses and consumers across the country using TNT’s EconomyExpress and Express services.

LaCie has selected TNT due to its extensive product range and European network and its knowhowin the electronics market as well as its capacity to provide added value B2C delivery services.

Separately, TNT France announced the expansion of its operational depot at Château Gaillard inthe department of Ain, north of Lyon in south-east France. The depot is strategically located closeto the A42/A40 motorways connecting Lyon and Geneva.

The additional 500 sqm is designed to cope with rising volumes and TNT also increased itssecurity equipment with more than 12 cameras ensuring round-the-clock surveillance at the site toprotect employees and confidential shipments.

The 1,300 sqm depot in Ain handles 3,600 parcels per day on average with 32 delivery tours andpick-ups on a daily basis. The site employs 12 staff.

More than 6,000 TNT customers are based in the Ain department who rely on the integrator todeliver their parcels, pallets and documents. In 2011, TNT handled more than 800,000 parcels in theregion alone which is 100,000 more than in 2010.
