AmerisourceBergen completes $520m acquisition of World Courier

US pharmaceuticals services firm AmerisourceBergen has completed the acquisition of leadinghealthcare logistics specialist World Courier for $520 million.



The purchase price of $520 million in cash is subject to a customary working capitaladjustment. The acquisition is expected to be neutral to the Company’s fiscal year 2012 earnings,and $0.06 to $0.10 accretive in fiscal 2013.

In March, AmerisourceBergen announced it had signed a definitive agreement to purchase WorldCourier, reportedly beating off approaches by FedEx and UPS.

World Courier will become a new operating segment within AmerisourceBergen. The US-basedlogistics operator, with over 137 offices, 13 GMP-compliant storage depots, and 2,500 employees in52 countries, is expected to have revenues of some $500 million in calendar year 2012. The firm isseen as the premier global specialty provider of transportation, storage and distribution servicesfor multinational biopharmaceutical clinical trials in addition to other end markets.
