www.paket.de

DHL Parcel Germany has bundled all its services for private recipients and shippers under thenew website

www.paket.de offering its customers a ‘control cockpit’ for alltheir parcels shipped with DHL.

Through its new website, DHL automatically informs registered customers about the status oftheir shipments and also notifies them via SMS or e-mail about the expected delivery date for anyparcels ordered to a postal address. Via a mouse click, customers using the new portal can alsochoose the date themselves when they want to receive the shipment or whether it should be deliveredto another location or handed over to another recipient desired by the customer. The customer canthus choose between delivery to their home address, business address or one of the 2,500 DHLPackstations, or even to a pre-arranged location of their choice within Germany.

Via www.paket.de , it is even possible for customers for the firsttime to indicate online the desired delivery address for their parcels and also the desiredrecipient to accept the shipment on their behalf in case of their absence. The notification aboutthe delivery of the parcel to the desired location will be effected in future via SMS or e-mail, asit is the case with DHL Packstations.

“In future, parcel receipt according to customers’ wishes will increasingly be a success factorin e-commerce. With Paket.de, we provide the parcel recipient with full transparency and controlover the delivery of their parcels and thus create a new service level in the parcel business,”Andrej Busch, CEO DHL Parcel Germany, said.

DHL said that continuously growing online trade means not only new delivery volumes for parcelservice providers but also requires new quality in terms of the logistics systems involved. Someprivate customers already receive one or more parcels every two or three days. Organising deliveryin a simple, efficient way and according to the needs of recipients requires greater flexibility, transparency and ways to influence the delivery process.

The company added that all shippers profit from the new website as they can import theirpersonal address books and directly access the online franking option.
