Austrian Post plans to take over the Austrian fulfilment specialist Systemlogistik DistributionGmbH to expand its parcel delivery operations and strengthen its position in the field of contract
logistics in the country.With the planned acquisition, the Austrian postal operator said it is consequently pursuing itsstrategy to increase its core competence in parcel distribution along the value chain.
The takeover, which is subject to antitrust approval, is due to take place at the end of May2012. Further details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Systemlogistik Distribution GmbH offers customised logistics solutions for companies wanting tooutsource services such as web-shop logistics, order processing, warehousing, picking, packing orreturns logistics, among others. At its two locations in the Vienna region, SystemlogistikDistribution employs around 80 qualified staff offering high-quality logistics solutions forwell-known customers such as Nespresso Austria, for example.

With the planned takeover of Systemlogistik Distribution, we willbe able to offer these services in future.”
Through this transaction, Austrian Post will expand its infrastructure and resources in itsnewly created business division “Logistics Solutions”. The unit is dedicated to building up anddeveloping businesses such value logistics and fulfilment which provide value-added logisticssolutions, in addition to classic parcel delivery.
