DHL will continue serving the German multi-channel mail-order company HSE24 (Home ShoppingEurope) as its sole logistics partner from mid-2013 and will also provide warehousing for products
outsourced to a competitor in 2010.By October 2013, DHL plans to expand its logistics centre in Greven, west-central Germany, intoa central warehouse from where the complete product management and logistics will be monitored withshipments to be fed directly into the adjacent DHL parcel centre via a conveyor bridge. The currentspace of 23,000 sqm which includes warehousing and handling space and 16,000 pallets will more thandouble in size after these restructuring and expansion works. Once the construction is complete,the Greven location will have the capacity to process about 84,000 orders a day and will have spaceto store more than 250,000 garments on hangers.

Among the requirements listed by the Munich-based company are the fastest possible delivery ofthe goods ordered, flexible handling of the products and a suitable solution for a wide range ofproducts that require a specific type of warehouse as well as diverse handling processes.Therefore, the site in Greven needs to provide more storage capacity for pallets and a secure areafor valuable goods such as jewelry. The different product portfolios also require a complex systemof supply, picking and packing logistics.
