Flash Europe acquires British logistics provider v-one

French company Flash Europe has continued its international expansion with the takeover of aBritish specialist provider.

As of 7th February 2012, Flash Europe has taken over the British express logistics providerv-one, pursuing its strategy of building up a permanent and close-knit network and thus ensuringdirect customer proximity. Worldwide, its network now covers 78 countries and the company has 35 ofits own offices in 15 countries.

The UK acquisition is strategically important for the logistics company which owes much of itshigh business growth to the automotive industry. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

“In v-one we’ve acquired a company that has been operating successfully in the market for manyyears and enables us to profitably access the British market”, said Philippe Higelin, FlashEurope’s general manager.

“Its expertise in air charter, airfreight and on-board-courier services makes it highlyattractive. It gives us the opportunity to enlarge our network in these sectors and, above all,benefit from its staff’s expertise. In return we’ll be sharing our skills in direct delivery withthe company and will offer v-one customers our high quality service”, he added.

V-one’s long-standing clients include Honda, Land Rover, Nissan, Siemens and Volvo. All thestaff at the British logistics company will be taken over and James Griffiths, a longstanding staffmember, will be heading the company. The former general manager James Softley is retiring after 40years in the logistics sector.

With its logistics expertise in time-critical road freight combined with the team experts forairfreight and air charter solutions, Flash Europe offers a one-stop service for all time-sensitivefreight.

The Flash Group is made up of the long-established company Flash Europe and Flash Taxicolis(formerly Taxicolis). With 400,000 special deliveries last year, Flash is one of the largestproviders in this segment in Europe. In addition to direct deliveries, the logistics provider alsooffers air charter (with its own charter department), on-board-courier solutions as well asmultimodal freight. Flash has gained in-depth experience in working in the health sector, theautomotive industry and the banking sector.

To address its customer’s specific requirements, the company has set up a close-knit, globalnetwork in 78 countries. Flash has its own offices in 15 countries in Europe (Germany, Poland,France, Romania, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Tunisia, Czech Republic,Russia, Turkey and UK). It has access to more than 4,000 vehicles and 600 airplanes and workstogether with around 1500 longstanding and reliable partners. The logistics provider turned over€118 million last year and at present employs 370 staff.
