British parcel delivery firm Yodel has agreed a mobile asset-management contract with Ryzex, tosupply more than 15,000 hand-held terminals and provide asset and mobile-device management,
enabling the company to manage the equipment from a centralised platform.Yodel said it expected to save a minimum of £500,000 per year through improved mobile managementthat will increase efficiency to its service centres, in an extension of its four-year workingrelationship with Ryzex.
The terminals are Yodel’s drivers’ main communication device, allowing them to receiveinstructions and feed back accurate scans on more than 200 million parcels a year.
Yodel will use Ryzex’s asset-management services to ensure the physical security and control ofits mobile terminals, manage any necessary repair or replacement and help maintain the latestsoftware levels.

Extending our agreementwill allow Ryzex to broaden the scope of its support to us and will allow us to enhance thedoorstep experience, which is fundamental to Yodel’s service.”
