Spanish express carrier MRW has launched a new service called “Urgent 20/22” offering evening homedeliveries in Madrid and Barcelona.
The company said it will deliver shipments to private homes between 20.00 and 22.00 to targetcustomers who are absent during the day but usually at home in the evening. With Urgent 20/22,shipments are picked up from any point in mainland Spain and are then delivered the followingworking day during the evening to urban residents of the two cities.
MRW said it is aware of the changing consumer behaviour among the Spanish population. “Various factors contribute to this: the new habits of shopping over the internet, the new economicclimate, the lack of time, high demand for personalisation, etc. The transportation network hasbeen adjusted to these changes to offer solutions to the new needs and customer demands,” thecompany explained.
Founded in 1977, MRW is one of the leading Spanish express operators specialised in domesticand international delivery of small parcels. The group has over 1,300 franchises and operates inSpain, Portugal, Andorra, Gibraltar and Venezuela. MRW delivers an average of 40 million parcelsevery year. In 2010, the company generated turnover of €563 million.
